DJ Ka2Tee is a Berlin-based Electronic Artist.

Mit seinen ersten Mix-Tapes Ende der 1980er sowie Synthesizer-Experimenten Anfang der 1990er begann er, sich zunehmend auch für akustische Instrumente zu interessieren. Das triste Vorstadtleben im Q3A-Plattenbau, die unsichere politische Lage zur Wendezeit und die Sehnsucht nach neuen Wegen brauchten ein Ventil.
Beeinflusst durch Industrial, Dark Wave und dem Electro der damals frischen Partyhauptstadt Berlin, bereicherte zur Jahrtausendwende auch der Nu Jazz die Denkweise seines Schaffens.
Seit Beginn der 2000er sind akustische Jam-Sessions mit verschiedenen Musikern die Basis des Sounds diverser Projekte von Ka2Tee. Den Startpunkt bilden oft nur Electro-Sequenzen oder Chord-Changes des Track-Grundgerüstes.
Erst aus dem Schnitt entsteht so der eigentliche Charakter der Songs, deren Einflüsse vielfältiger Kulturen entstammen.
Vor allem in schwierigen Zeiten der globalen Konflikte bleibt diese Musik ein Indiz für die Dringlichkeit von Aufarbeitung der Vergangenheit, Beschreibung der Gegenwart und eben Hoffnung auf ein Miteinander in der Zukunft.
